NSE to introduce futures and options contracts on 45 stocks from November 29

The NSE is set to introduce futures and options (F&O) trading on an additional 45 stocks starting November 29. This means traders will have more choices in the derivatives market, with popular names like LIC, Jio Financial Services, Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Green Energy, Nykaa, Paytm, YES Bank, and Zomato among the new additions.

The announcement came on November 13, with the NSE noting that these stocks met SEBI’s criteria for F&O trading, as outlined in their circular dated August 30, 2024. With SEBI’s approval, these stocks are now eligible for F&O contracts, expanding the range of options for traders looking to diversify or hedge their investments.

For example, investors who are keen on the insurance sector might explore F&O contracts on LIC, while those interested in the digital finance sector could consider Paytm or Jio Financial. Adani Group fans will also have more choices, with Adani Energy Solutions and Adani Green Energy joining the F&O lineup.

The NSE added that details about the market lot size, strike price intervals, and quantity freeze limits for these new contracts will be shared with members on November 28 via a separate circular.

This move opens up more avenues for traders to explore F&O strategies with a wider selection of stocks, giving them tools to better navigate market volatility, hedge risk, or capitalize on sector-specific opportunities.
