Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, posted a 5.6% rise in net profit and a solid 10% boost in consolidated revenues for Q2FY25, thanks to growing demand in rural markets. The company’s consolidated revenue climbed to Rs 10,482.93 crore, while net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 1,063 crore—a testament to the company’s strong performance.
Hero’s impressive numbers reflect a surge in rural demand, with a record-breaking 1.6 million units sold during the festive season. In standalone terms, the company reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of Rs 10,463 crore, an 11% year-on-year growth, while profit after tax saw a 14% jump to Rs 1,204 crore. Hero’s revenue from parts, accessories, and merchandise also hit an all-time high at Rs 1,456 crore.
Following the results, Hero MotoCorp’s shares rose by 1.8% to Rs 4,604.3 on Thursday, and for the first half of FY25, consolidated revenue increased by 12.5% to Rs 20,693.72 crore, while net profit soared by 23% to Rs 2,109.6 crore.
Niranjan Gupta, Hero MotoCorp’s CEO, attributed this success to the company’s robust cash management strategy, which has strengthened their financial position. He also shared plans for several new launches in the scooter segment, both ICE and EV, with three models set to arrive by March 2025, each boasting “first-in-class” and “best-in-class” features. Gupta expressed optimism about the market, noting that a strong monsoon could boost momentum in the two-wheeler industry.
Hero’s lineup of recent launches reflects this strategy. At the EICMA 2024 event, the company introduced three new motorcycles—the Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250R, and Karizma XMR 250—each designed to capture the attention of young, adventurous riders. Meanwhile, the updated Hero Glamour 2024 features new colors and upgrades aimed at urban riders, while the limited-edition Maverick 440 Thunderwheels, launched in collaboration with Thums Up, targets fans of premium bikes.
On the electric side, Hero MotoCorp is also gaining traction, achieving over 6,000 monthly sales units in August for the first time, with a retail market share above 5%, according to VAHAN data. The company is also expanding internationally, having recently launched in the Philippines and recording a 30% growth in global sales for the year to date.
Hero MotoCorp’s dynamic performance shows its ability to cater to a diverse market with an impressive range of vehicles, from rural-friendly scooters to stylish urban motorcycles and electric options for the eco-conscious consumer.
